San Francisco for the Weekend

This weekend I’ll be in San Francisco for a brief vacation before the holidays. Any suggestions for great sites to hit as a tourist? I’m visting the SF MoMA and the De Young for sure, and making Chinatown a priority, other than that the schedule is pretty wide open.

If you’ve never done it, Alcatraz is well worth the trip. Make sure to get the head-set if you decide to go.

Also, when you do China Town, be sure to go around lunch time. Go try dim-sum at Emerald Dragon or something like that. The place is crazy, but it is an experience you will never forget.

I don’t know who dim sum is, but I do know that a walk to the middle of the Golden gate is also worth it.

As for Alcatraz, make your reservation for the tour early, if not the day before, as they are limited and tend to fill up quickly.

Other than that, ride one of those Rice-a-roni cable-trolleys, go check out Pac-Bell park, Lombard Street, the Coit Tower, and be sure to ride the BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) at least once.

Also be aware of men playing grab-ass.

Thanks for the tips boys. The weather was pretty terrible Saturday and Sunday so we thought that Alcatraz and a walk on the bridge was really out of the picture, but I had a great time, more details to follow. I did hit Chinatown, and managed to find the soup nazi of Chinese cuisine. Great stuff.
