It was actually quite dust free thanks to a few recent sprinkles, but I had heard in the summer it could be pretty dry. The lookout tower was locked but I stood along the railing for a few pics that I’ll have to post later. Someone told me you could even reserve the lookout- ever heard of that? A quite nice hike altogether I felt.
I have heard that you could reserve it, but it was somewhat difficult. I might even look into doing that. The meadow is quite nice up there in the summer, and would be fun to lay around on for a day or two.
D- hopless romantic AND an environmentalist, what a combo. BTW, I’d check your order of operations, lighting a forest fire then passing out might not be the best way to enjoy your weekend. G’luck with that though.
I was on Shriner Peak 2 years ago. That’s a dusty hike, but a big payoff. Did you get into the lookout tower?
